Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Livai Driu has confirmed that drugs are being manufactured in Fiji and police have special teams who are tackling this problem.

In an interview with fijivillage News, ACP Driu says this can be confirmed by looking at the rate of arrests that they are currently making on the street now.

He further says while they are targeting green drugs, they are also mindful of hard drugs such as methamphetamine and cocaine.

ACP Driu says children should be aware of this and parents should be on the look out for people who could be transporters.

He further says most of the drugs being shifted around the suburbs are kept in homes and these are areas that they are going to target as they have ceased drug operations in the interior and have mobilised manpower into cities and villages.
