Drug tests for players participating in the Skipper Cup competition will start this week.

CEO of Fiji Rugby Union John O’Connor says they have been in discussion with World Rugby and World Anti-Doping Agency about the processes to follow.

O’Connor says this is to make sure that the process is always right so that they can not be challenged when they decide a penalty on a player caught taking an illegal substance.

He adds this is also part of trying to keep the game clean and helping Police in their fight against the use of drugs.

This week in the Skipper Cup, Nadroga will take on Tailevu, Lautoka will face Yasawa, Suva will play Nadi, and Naitasiri will host Namosi.

The times and venues for these matches are yet to be confirmed.
