Drua to play Highlanders in Ba, their second game there next season

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua have just announced that they will play the Highlanders on 2nd May 2026 at Ba’s Four R Stadium, making this the second Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific match to be played there.

The first Ba fixture will be the Drua battling competition heavyweights, the ACT Brumbies, on 14th March.

The Drua will mark their fifth year in the competition, which turns 30 in 2026.

With 11 teams and a sharper finals format, Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific maintains its status as one of the world’s toughest professional rugby competitions.

Meanwhile the other pending 2026 fixture, the 11th April clash against the Western Force has been confirmed at the Drua Fortress of Churchill Park in Lautoka.

The confirmation means the Fijian Drua will play four matches in Lautoka, two in Ba and one in Suva during the 2026 season.

Fijian Drua CEO Mark Evans says they are glad to finally be able to confirm their 2026 season home fixtures after extensive negotiations with available venues around the country.

As a result, Lautoka are the big winners in the new season, getting four Drua matches while Ba will get two in the first year that they’ll host international rugby.

Evans says bringing two Super Rugby matches to Ba will be a great boost to the economy of the town and surrounding areas.

He says it also means their fans in the region will be to witness their favourite Drua players taking on some of the competition’s best, including All Blacks and Wallabies stars.

Churchill Park getting four matches means fans visiting their Fortress know what to expect.

The ground has been the spiritual home of the Drua since their very first season, and the Drua players are excited to play Moana Pasifika (14 February), Hurricanes (28 February), Reds (21 March) and Westen Force (11 April) there.

Evans also had a heartfelt message to Drua fans in Suva and the Central Division saying they really feel for our fans in the Capital and surrounding regions like Tailevu, Naitasiri and Rewa.

He says venue negotiations take a long time and must work for both parties and despite their best efforts, they couldn’t secure more than one match in Suva because of other events scheduled at the Stadium.

Evans adds they hope Suva fans can cheer on their Drua when they play the Waratahs (16 May), or they’ll take trip to the West earlier in the season.
