The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua continues to break new ground, and this time, the club has released a book that captivates how the Fijian Drua came into existence.

The Fijian Drua says the book is written by leading rugby commentator Greg Clark and veteran sports writer Norman Tasker, titled: “The Rise of the Drua – How A Rugby Dream Captivated A Nation”, which offers Drua fans and readers an inside look at the inspiring journey some 25 years in the making.

They say the Rise of the Drua chronicles shows how the team was brought together during the height of the COVID crisis and its remarkable ascent in Super Rugby Pacific.

The club says it captures the trials and tribulations both on and off the field for the club, players and staff as they continuously relocated, re-homed and ultimately returned to Fiji.

They add that from their earliest days to their triumphant moments on the field, this book is a tribute to the players, coaches, staff, sponsors and the world’s best fans who have made the Drua one of the most loved teams of the competition in a short time.

The Fijian Drua says the book also captures the passion, perseverance, and pride that has fuelled their journey, with exclusive interviews, stark revelations, never-seen-before photographs and behind-the-scenes narratives that brought the Drua’s story to life.

Fijian Drua CEO Mark Evans says this book is a written documentation of a journey through the highs and lows, the victories and challenges, that define the essence of the Drua.

He says it celebrates their team's unwavering Fijian spirit, the dedication of the players, and the unwavering support of fans.

Evans says it is a must-read for anyone who loves rugby and wants to understand the heart of the Fijian Drua.

The book will be available for purchase at a wide range of retail outlets from October 11th, with a paperback version priced at $35 (VIP) and a hardback version, priced at $50 (VIP).
