The 37-year-old driver, who was allegedly involved in the fatal accident that caused the death of a 23-year-old farmer from Waibogi Settlement on Sunday, is still in Police custody.
Police say the accident occurred near Yadua Village in Sigatoka.
They say the suspect allegedly tried to flee the scene when his vehicle collided with another vehicle travelling from the opposite direction.
The man was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody at the Sigatoka Police Station as investigations continue.
