The driver alleged to be involved in the hit-and-run accident in Koronubu, Ba, that claimed the life of a 25-year-old man has been arrested and is in police custody.

Police say the suspect was arrested yesterday.

The suspect failed to stop after the accident on the morning of last Saturday.

He was arrested yesterday and remains in custody as investigations continue.

Chief of Operations ACP Livai Driu had earlier said that the 25-year-old man was sitting in the middle of the road when he was hit by an unknown vehicle.

He says the incident occurred after 4am and was witnessed by the occupants of another vehicle approaching the scene, but they could not make out the particulars of the car.

The witnesses rushed the 25-year-old victim to the Ba Hospital, where he was unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival.
