Dratabu Chief calls on Fijians to get vaccinated after getting his first jab of the AstraZeneca vaccine

Dratabu Village Chief, Na Turaga na Taukei Navo Ratu Meli Saukuru is calling on Fijians to get vaccinated after receiving his first jab of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Ratu Meli says no one has had any complications after receiving the vaccine in the village.

He has also encouraged people to adhere to the COVID-19 safety protocols that have been set out by the government.

300,436 people in Fiji have received their first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine and 48,503 people are fully vaccinated.

51% of the target population has received at least one dose and 8.3% are now fully vaccinated.

The target is to get 587,641 Fijians fully vaccinated.
