Dismissed Solicitor General, Sharvada Sharma has filed legal action in the High Court in relation to the termination of his employment on the 12th of November 2021 by former President Jioji Konrote.

The case will be called on 6th January 2022 in the High Court.

Fijivillage has received confirmation that Sharma is represented by Munro Leys.

A statement on the Government Facebook Page had earlier said that on the 10th of November 2021, the President of Fiji at the time, on the advice of the Judicial Services Commission and in accordance with the Fijian Constitution, terminated the appointment of Sharvada Sharma. Sharma was earlier suspended by former President Jioji Konrote for more than 7 weeks after an allegation of misbehaviour. Sharma’s lawyers are arguing that the process followed to terminate the employment of their client was unconstitutional.
