Exciting games in the Fiji Secondary Schools Hockey Comp on day 1, Tilak U16 boys win 2 games

Tilak High School from Lautoka has already won two games in the U16 boys Venu Haulage Shipping Limited and Outback Range Pte Ltd Fiji Secondary Schools Hockey Competition, first defeating Grammar 2-0 and then beating St John’s College 1-0 at Nasau Park in Levuka.

In the other U16 game, Marist Brothers High School thumped Grammar 3-0 before playing to a nil all draw with Dilkusha Methodist High School.

After day 1 of competition, in the U16 Girls Pool A, St John’s College beat Suva Grammar School 1-0 while Sila Central High School edged Jasper Williams High School 1-0.

In the U16 Girls Pool C, St Thomas High School edged St Joseph’s Secondary School 1-0.

In the U19 Girls Pool A, Levuka Public hammered Grammar 3-0.

St Joseph’s Secondary thumped Delana Methodist School 3-0 in the U19 Girls Pool B while St John’s College thrashed Adi Cakobau School 4-0 in the U19 Girls Pool C game.

In the U19 Boys, St John’s defeated Grammar 3-0, Levuka Public beat St John’s College 1-0 and also beat Tilak 1-0, while Marist drew 0-0 with St Thomas High.

The schools are competing for the U16 Boys Noal Cup, U16 Girls Melaia Sandys Cup, U19 Girls Westmere Cup, and U19 Boys Bhasin Cup, along with the John May Cup and Sophia Raddock Cup in the Inter-district Tournament.

President, Immanuel Prasad says thirteen schools are taking part this year with three from Levuka, four from the West, while the other six are from the Suva-Nausori corridor.
