Digicel provides sponsorship to Lautoka Netball for the next 3 years

Digicel provides sponsorship to Lautoka Netball for the next 3 years

There are 10 clubs confirmed to play in the under 12, under 15 and open divisions with up to 60 teams in total playing for 13 weeks.

After 22 years of no sponsorship, the Lautoka Netball Association has managed to secure a $3,500 cash sponsorship every season for the next three years from Digicel.

Digicel Fiji CEO, Farid Mohammed and Lautoka’s Interim President, Salanieta Drasuna signed the sponsorship agreement today.

He says netball in the country is the highest participation sport for girls and women and they are excited that a key element of this partnership will focus on supporting grassroots development, ensuring there’s a competitive feel in the newly introduced Under 12 and 15 competition in Lautoka.

Mohammed says they are All In for sports and communities and netball is an important part of local communities.

Lautoka Netball’s Salanieta Drasuna says Digicel’s support will mean that players and clubs will not have to worry about contributing to court fees every Saturday.

Drasuna says they are happy to sign the partnership deal with Digicel and has thanked the company for coming to their rescue in these tough times.

60 teams are expected to participate in the Lautoka Netball Club Competition.

The first round of club games start at the Lautoka multi-purpose courts tomorrow.
