A desperate father is pleading for assistance as his 13-year-old daughter has been left blind by a tumour and is now unable to eat as her condition worsens.

Katalina Sokiveta who is a Year 8 student at Veiuto Primary School urgently needs surgery at the Starship Children’s Hospital in Auckland.

Her father, Musudroka Sokiveta told fijivillage News that the family is appealing to the public for help, as they have exhausted all other options.

Katalina is currently admitted at the CWM Hospital.

He says if they are unable to raise the funds, their last option will be to sell their home.

Sokiveta says any donation, no matter the amount, will go toward restoring his daughter’s eyesight and giving her a chance at living a normal life again.

The 50-year-old father confirms that the hospital has accepted Katalina’s application and issued a quotation for her surgery, which totals $114,209.23.

This amount does not include their flight and accommodation costs.

Those wishing to help can donate via M-PAiSA to 8619521 or 9266822, or through ANZ Bank — Account Number: 0584813, Account Name: Kelera Meki.
