The Vodafone Fiji Fashion Week Resort Cruise Night has been a resounding success, and the audience response speaks volumes.

While speaking to fijivillage News, FJFW Executive Director Ellen Whippy-Knight says the designers could not wait to showcase their work, and it was a night filled with excitement for everyone who attended.

Whippy-Knight says she is grateful to have an experienced production team that does all the work behind the scenes.

She says four of her local designers just came back from Australia and this exposure means a lot for the fashion industry in Fiji because they need to know where they sit in the international platform in terms of clothing.

Whippy-Knight says it will measure their worth if they are good enough for the international market too.

Some designers who took part last night were Jerry Ligalevu, Shane Laboriel, Nicholas Kama, Hilda Mondo, and Ledua Daurewa.

Tia Semi who has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and other intellectual disabilities.

Whippy-Knight says she is half Samoan, half Australian, and everything in her collection is hand-printed and inspired by her Polynesian heritage.

Established Fijian designers such as Tracey Ann Farrington, Cherish Prasad, Sunia and Vere Tubuna, Rosie Emberson Semisi, Temesia Tuicaumia, Robert Kennedy, Hupfeld Hoerder, Sue Samuel, Anton Conway Wye will be flaunting their style tonight.

Overseas designers include Shanghai based Jadeine Whiteside, Indigenous Canadian jewellery designer, Helen Oro and Helen Courdret from France.

The Executive Director is urging people to come tonight to witness another night of glamour at the Vodafone arena and support the local designers.

The Resort Luxe Show will begin at the Vodafone Arena at 6 this evening.
