Dalo exporter from Viria, Naitasiri, Timoci Sigisiga Tarai

A dalo exporter from Viria, Naitasiri, Timoci Sigisiga Tarai, is calling on the government to provide support to farmers and not to regulate the export price of dalo.

While speaking to fijivillage News in the iTaukei language, Tarai says he has seen first hand the alleged unfair treatment from government when providing assistance to dalo farmers.

His main stand is the alleged push by the government to regulate the export price for dalo.

He says before starting his business, he had worked for other export companies in Lami.

According to Tarai, he and many other farmers need assistance from the government but only if the government is truthful and transparent with its interactions and allows entrepreneurs to run their businesses the way they want to run it.

He believes that the government needs to take farmers' problems and challenges into account.

We are currently trying to get comments from Minister for Agriculture, Vatimi Rayalu.

The National Budget will be delivered by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad on the 27th of this month.
