It will be a repeat of last year’s Vodafone Super Deans quarter-finals when Cuvu College takes on Ratu Kadavulevu School in the same stage of the competition, having edged RKS 23-22 in 2024.

Speaking to fijivillage Sports, Cuvu College Principal Manoj Vikash Roop says this year the team is aiming to win the Deans Trophy.

Roop says the players are aware of the long-term goal, and over the past two months, they have been camping together to help with preparation for the season.

He says the players have consistently used the village gym for training, even though it is not fully equipped.

Roop says he believes in the strength and potential of the players, not only academically, but also in sports and believes this will take them far in life.

The principal is urging parents and supporters of Cuvu College to come out in numbers and support the team this weekend.

Cuvu will take on RKS at 12.45pm in the first U18 quarter final this Saturday at Churchill Park 1, Lautoka.

In other U18 quarter final matches this weekend, Suva Grammar School plays Lelean Memorial School at 2.10pm, Natabua High School faces Marist Brothers High School at 3.35pm while QVS will meet Nasinu Secondary School at 5.10pm.

All U18 matches will be played at Churchill Park 1.
