Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem

The current number of voters as at 30th June stands at 686,076.

This was highlighted by the Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem in a press conference this afternoon.

Saneem says to generate greater interest in participation in this round of nationwide voter awareness and registration drive, the Fijian Elections Office has announced a prize of $10,000.

The Supervisor of Elections adds that 100 voters will get a chance to win $100 each at the end of the drive.

Saneem also announced that people will be able to apply for Postal Voting once the date of the elections is announced and they will be able to do this by using the existing details on their voter card.

He adds that according to law, any person who is unable to be at their polling station on the date announced to be election day, will have to apply for a postal vote in order to vote.

However Saneem says if you are in Fiji and you are listed to vote at St Joseph’s Secondary School, and on election day you cannot go to St Joseph’s Secondary School and have not applied for postal voting, you will not be able to vote anywhere else in Fiji.

People will be able to download the form from the FEO website and submit it on the website.
