Cunningham fire destroys two homes, damages another and leaves families homeless

It is an emotional and devastating morning for three families in Cunningham Stage 1, as a fire has destroyed two homes, leaving them homeless, while another house has suffered extensive damage.

Neighbours informed fijivillage News that they heard a loud noise shortly before the fire began, while others claimed to have seen a man wandering near the house moments before the flames erupted.

It is believed that the fire started in a vacant house and quickly spread to the next two houses.

Neighbours say the family left last Friday to visit their family.

The occupants of the other two homes are still in a state of shock.

No casualties have been reported, as we await the results of the investigation conducted by the Fiji Police and the National Fire Authority.
