Crusoe’s Retreat undergoing around $1.3 million worth of major renovation works

One of Fiji’s oldest operating resorts, Crusoe’s Retreat which is situated on the Coral Coast is currently undergoing around $1.3 million worth of major renovation works and a grand opening is being planned for 1st February, 2022.

Resort Manager, Ameena Khan says major renovations covers the roof and exterior upgrading at the main lobby area, upgrade of bures, kitchen, conference room, beach bar and grill, pool area and driveway.

Khan says they expect drastic changes to the look of the resort after the renovations and their guests will definitely feel that they are staying at a more luxury resort from early next year.

Crusoe’s Retreat has 40 staff however 10 are currently working on rotational basis. Khan says 90 percent of their staff were laid off during the pandemic.

80% of their staff are from nearby villages.

The resort is expected to call back more staff when the resort reopens.
