The Crusaders have locked in a key component of their coaching team for at least another three years.
Forwards coach Jason Ryan, head coach Scott Robertson’s right-hand man since their days together with Canterbury, has recommitted to the Crusaders through 2024.
Ryan, who quit his day job – he worked for a company which imports mining and drilling equipment – in 2013 to give coaching a crack, is also contracted to Fiji through 2023.
The Crusaders will play the Reds at 9.45pm Saturday.
In other matches, the Hurricanes will play the Rebels at 7.05pm Friday, the Western Force will face the Highlanders at 9.45pm Friday, the Blues will take on the Waratahs at 4.35pm Saturday, and the Chiefs will face the Brumbies at 7.05pm Saturday.
