Crusaders extend table lead with golden point win over the Canes

The Crusaders have extended their lead on the Super Rugby Aotearoa table to 22 points following their 30-27 golden point win over the Hurricanes yesterday.

Crusader’s centre David Havili kicked the winning drop goal in extra time.

Both teams were locked 27-all at full time.

Sevu Reece scored one try for the Crusaders while George Bridge got two tries.

The Hurricanes tries were scored by Wes Goosen, Julian Savea and Ngani Laumape.

Laumape was also shown a yellow card for a foul play on Scott Barrett.

The Blues are second on the table with 14 points while the Chiefs are third with 12 points.

In Round 8 this week, the Highlanders take on the Blues at 7.05pm Friday while the Chiefs face the Crusaders at 7.05pm Saturday.
