Coward act at Vunicuicui Labasa – Hem Chand

By Mansi Chand
06/04/2025

Opposition Member of Parliament, Hem Chand has strongly criticised and denounced the act of sacrilege where pages of Ramayan were torn at Vunicuicui Shiv Mandir in Labasa.

Chand says as Hindus all over the world prepare to celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Rama, it is sad to see actions of this nature by some irresponsible and cowardly people.

He says Fiji is a multi-racial, multi-cultural nation where we have lived together for decades respecting each other’s customs, traditions and religious beliefs.

The MP further says such incidents will create hatred and disunity in our societies and communities.

Chand urges the police to conduct a thorough investigation, ensuring that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
