A man who was found guilty for the murder of a visiting Fijian national from Canada, Narend Chand in February 2023, is also a charged with the alleged murder of Afroz Khan whose body was found in Tailevu in December last year.

Khan was last seen travelling from Nadi to Suva for a business trip, and his family had claimed that Khan was kidnapped.

Police confirm that the man has been charged in Khan’s case and will appear in the Suva Magistrates Court tomorrow. The man is the third person t be charged in relation to Khan’s murder.

In the Narend Chand murder trial, it was heard in court that the murderer used his former girlfriend without her knowledge to obtain financial gains from Chand.

The court was also told that the murderer spoke to Chand on several occasions in a female voice.

Chand was later badly beaten up and thrown under a bridge when he came to Fiji from Canada.

The court heard that the murderer was also sending nude photos of his girlfriend to Chand without her knowledge.
