The Minister for Trade Faiyaz Koya says the new Consumer Council of Fiji app will help safeguard consumers from ill-business practices and will ensure that tax reforms are passed down to ordinary Fijians.

While launching the app today, Koya said during these difficult times people are especially vulnerable.

He says they are spending differently and businesses are pricing differently.

Koya says this launch symbolises the Consumer Council of Fiji’s commitment to improving customer experience.

He says it helps in grievance redress in a more real time basis.

The app can be downloaded from google play store while there is a short wait period for users of apple branded phones.

The council has also developed a new complaints management system which was made possible through the donation of $77,000 from the Pacific Financial Inclusion Program.

Consumers can obtain information on consumer related agenda from the app and they can lodge and track complaints.
