More people are expected to get employed in Nausori as construction on the $25 million Amras Mall in Lakena will begin next year.

Construction is expected to complete in 18 months.

Furnished with ATMs, office spaces, mixed retail spaces, pharmacies, hair saloons and medical clinics, the Amras Mall aims to provide convenience for its customers.

While officiating at the launch, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad congratulated the Amras family for its vision in extending the business, thus creating more job opportunities and contributing further to the country’s economy and its growth.

He also says the government values and appreciates the contribution the private sector make to the growth and economic prosperity of the country.

The Deputy Prime Minister says government’s job is to facilitate the private sector and the government is trying it’s best to do that.

Prof. Prasad further says that the government has recognised that there are a lot of bottlenecks for businesses to grow.

He says the government has set up committees and announcements will be made regarding this.

The Deputy Prime Minister says they have also seen a very strong interest from the business community and as a government, they are making sure to provide the support.

Prof. Prasad adds that revenue collection from the past two months has been positive.
