Photos sent by a concerned resident showing wastewater flowing into a playing field at Viria Housing in Vatuwaqa

Concerns have been raised by people about wastewater coming out from a sewer line at Viria Housing in Vatuwaqa.

A resident has told fijivillage that this started last Wednesday and that the wastewater has been flowing to a nearby playing field and drains.

He says that it is unhygienic as children are playing in the nearby playing field and it is also giving out a foul smell.

The resident adds that the Water Authority of Fiji has done some bailing work on the sewer line however wastewater is still seeping.

We have sent questions to the Water Authority of Fiji and are awaiting their response.
