Fiji Football Association President Rajesh Patel says by improving the standard of coaches, the standard of soccer will improve in Fiji.

After a lapse of 5 months, at the end of Day 1 of the Punjas BOG tournament people did not get to see any major spectacular performances.

Football is the first sport that resumed after all major sporting events and activities were restricted to take place due to COVID-19 in March.

Patel says in the future they will place a restriction with respect to coaching for the Premier Division competition where only B-Licensed coaches will be allowed to take charge of a team.

Patel says they have already started the implementation of having C -Licensed Coaches being allowed to sit on the bench.

He says this is going on with the Premier Division competition and they will soon enforce this for the Senior Division competition. Patel adds that the National Football Coach Flemming Serritslev will play a big role in this where he will be ensuring that coaches have proper qualifications.
