Minister for Education, Premila Kumar says as things open up they want schools to normalise soon which includes the resumption of competitive sports.

She highlighted this to the students of Levuka Public School who, according to Kumar, raised valid concerns about competitive sports, two weeks holidays, realignement of curriculum, sample paper and removal of exams.

The Minister says she also met with the school management committees in Levuka who raised concerns regarding school quarters where they wanted the Government to assist them in building new quarters.

She says they have clarified that the Government does not build the quarters because the school and the quarters belong to the community but they can assist in renovation works.

Kumar highlighted she also had a teacher’s forum where they discussed and shared some of the new initiatives the Ministry has rolled out and got their views on some of the initiatives.
