Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu has acknowledged the dedication of officers serving in rural and remote areas and assured them of the necessary strategic support.

Tudravu says policing requires officers to set aside their personal challenges, commitments and the comforts they are accustomed to in order to get the job done.

He further says visiting officers on the ground is his way of reminding them that their work is appreciated, especially when they are deployed for weeks or months for special operations.

With Fiji’s Muslim community observing the month of Ramadan, the Commissioner added that officers must continue working through special occasions while heeding the call to serve.

Meanwhile, Eid is expected to be celebrated on the 31st of March.
