Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu

Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu has assured members of the public of concerted efforts to address the basics of policing that continue to drag the organisation back, in terms of the lack of response to a breach of domestic violence order in the Western Division.

Tudravu says officers should get the basics right.

He says the lack of police response has been a problematic area, and managers at the frontline have been reminded to treat all reports with urgency.

A video has been shared online of a man breaching his DVRO and the Divisional Police Commander West had personally contacted the complainant whereby a report was lodged yesterday.

Police say the victim was advised and assured that officers are searching for the suspect who has previously been charged for similar breaches and produced in court.
