Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho is expected to leave for studies in the United Kingdom at the Royal College of Defence Studies next week.

Qiliho is expected to be away for 1 year.

The Police Headquarters Division hosted Commissioner Qiliho to a morning tea, to wish him well for his studies in London.

Present were the four Divisional Police Commanders, Directors and staff based at the headquarters.

Acting Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu says all members of the Fiji Police Force would continue to support the work left behind by the Commissioner.

He wished the head of the institution well for his studies and thanked him for having faith in their ability to hold the fort while away overseas.

Qiliho called on the senior Managers present to support the Acting Commissioner and senior command.

He added the reality of leaving policing for a long period has been difficult to accept as policing has become part of his everyday life.

Qiliho says he leaves knowing that the operations of the institution are in good hands.

He says over the past few days, he has been feeling sad knowing that he won't be putting on the uniform for quite some time and he urged the officers to continue serving the Fijian people with integrity and remember that they exist for a purpose.
