Close to $200,000 raised during Frank Hilton Bara Battle

Close to $200,000 has been collected in this year’s Frank Hilton Bara Battle held at Albert Park in Suva.

Fortech Construction has once again asserted their dominance winning the battle for the second consecutive year at Albert Park today.

The team has set the pace over the years with the fastest running team members, providing stiff competition to other competitors like Vodafone Fiji and the Fiji Police Force.

The Fiji Police Force had taken an early lead during the race setting the pace and tempo for the competition.

Fortech came back strongly in the second run and managed to over take the Police team and eventually winning the race in a time of 9 minutes 54 seconds.

Fortech team manager Avinesh Swami says the team prepared well to defend the title this year and they are overwhelmed to have achieved their goal.

Swami says they expected a tough competition this year and the race was fast and furious from the get go.

He says next year, they will prepare well again to win the tittle 3 year in a row.

The Frank Hilton Organization says all proceeds will go towards towards the early childhood intervention program for kids and their overall welfare.

Harcourt Fiji raised the highest amount of money this year. Raising $50,000 this year.
