The 2023 Rugby World Cup will be a memory that will live forever in Fiji Water Flying Fijians loose-forward Te Ahiwaru Cirikidaveta heart as his mother, Vicky Nukunuku, will be in the stands cheering him on.

After Cirikidaveta was named in the Flying Fijians squad for the World Cup last month, Youth team coach Paora Brooking organised a fundraising to send Nukunuku to France to watch her son play.

After a month of fundraising and donations, Cirikidaveta’s mum will travel out of New Zealand for the first time on Wednesday to be part of her son’s rugby journey at the World Cup.

Cirikidaveta was part of the Flying Fijians team that created history when they beat England 30-22.

He is likely to be named in the starting line-up when the Flying Fijians will play Wales in their first RWC game at 7am next Monday in Bordeaux. The RWC kicks off this Saturday with hosts France taking on the All Blacks at 7.15am in Paris.
