China reaffirms commitment to supporting Fiji in climate change response

As Fiji continues to face challenges from the impacts of climate change, the Peoples Republic of China stated today that it will remain committed to assisting Fiji in this matter.

While speaking at the press briefing and promoting exchanges on China-Fiji relations, the Chinese Ambassador to Fiji, Zhou Jian, said their commitment to climate change will never change, and their support to Pacific Island countries in climate change response will remain unchanged, and they will double their efforts.

Jian says they will join hands with the Pacific Island countries in their endeavour to climate change response.

The Ambassador says China is a stabiliser country in the changing world.

Jian says their aim is for global security to hold high the banner of peace.

He says they also focus on meeting the common demand, especially in the developing countries.

He adds in recent years, China has engaged in extensive cooperation with Pacific Island countries under the framework of the Belgium initiative, achieving fruitful results.

Jian adds China continue to promote integrated development of technological innovation and industrial innovation empowering the world with technology.
