The children of Joseva Tubuna who died due to pancreatic cancer in Suva managed to pay their last respect to their late father after they were given approval by the Ministry of Health to travel from Batiki, Lomaiviti to the Central Division.

Tubuna with his wife Kasaya Tubuna left his island home three months ago to receive medical treatment at Levuka Hospital and was later transferred to the CWM Hospital. His health deteriorated and he passed away on the 15th of this month.

The children aged 7, 10, 11 and 13 were separated from their parents for 3 months due to lockdowns and restrictions.

Kasaya Tubuna has thanked the Government for allowing her children to travel to Viti Levu and attend their father’s funeral which was held at Lovonilase Cemetery on Friday.

Family members say it was an emotional moment for the children to finally meet their mother and farewell their father.
