Mason Mount scored a hat-trick as Premier League leaders Chelsea thrashed bottom placed club Norwich 7-0 in the English Premier League at Stamford Bridge.

Thomas Tuchel's side were 2-0 ahead inside 18 minutes as Mount and Callum Hudson-Odoi scored their first goals of the season, with Mount turning provider to set up Reece James for a third goal before half-time.

Fellow defender Ben Chilwell scored for the fourth successive game to extend Chelsea's lead shortly after the restart, before Max Aarons' own goal and Mount's late double wrapped up the win.

Chelsea continue to lead the points table with 22 points.

Meanwhile, Phil Foden scored twice as Manchester City produced a devastating first-half display to beat Brighton 4-1 and move up to second in the Premier League.

Pep Guardiola's side scored three goals in the opening half-hour as Brighton, who could have gone above City with a win, simply could not cope with the away side's sweeping attacks.

In other matches, Newcastle and Crystal Palace drew 1-1, Watford beat Everton 5-2, and Wolves and Leeds drew 1-1.
