One Hundred Sands Limited said they are now well on their way to getting the casino project started.
Speaking to Fijivillage, One Hundred Sands Limited Chairperson Larry Claunch said the funding has been secured.
Claunch said they have chosen a new site as it suits the project better.
Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has told Fijivillage the government has been assured that construction will commence early this week.
Based on this, the deadline for the developers had been extended by a week.
Meanwhile, Claunch said they will pay the Government 100 thousand US dollars per month from 1st October 2013 until the casino is completed.
Penalty clauses in the casino license between One Hundred Sands Limited and the government will kick in from 1st October this year if the casino is not completed.
Claunch said the project will take 12 to 15 months to complete.
