The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side lost to Australia 24-7 in the second semi final of the Cape Town 7s.
Australia started very well, scoring two unanswered tries to Ben Dowling and Nick Malouf to give them a 12-0 lead at the break.
Terio Tamani managed to break through the Australian defence to close the gap to 12-7.
The Fijians' hearts were shattered when Australia scored another two tries to Josh Turner and Nathan Lawson.
Fiji will now face Ireland in the 3rd place playoff at 4.10am today.
In the first semi final, Argentina beat Ireland 26-19.
Australia will face Ireland at 5.23am today in the men’s cup final.
