Cape Town 7s: Argentina and Australia win men’s and women’s titles

Argentina and Australia have won the men’s and women’s titles at the Cape Town 7s.

Argentina beat Australia 45-12 in the men’s final, while Australia edged France 29-26 in the women’s final.

In the men’s final, Argentina was ruthless scoring four tries in the first half to lead Australia 28-0 at halftime.

Australia came back firing in the second half to score two tries, but the Argentinians managed to score another three tries to seal their victory.

In the women’s final, Australia’s Maddison Levi scored a double while Faith Nathan, Sharni Smale and Kaitlin Shave scored a try each.

The Australian women’s team continue to lead the HSBC SVNS points table in the women’s division with 40 points, while Argentina leads the men's division with 38 points.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side finished in third place after defeating Ireland 14-7, and the Fijiana 7s side settled for fifth place after beating Canada 19-17.
