The three-time Paralympic gold medalist, Cameron Leslie finished fourth in a freestyle race won in world record time.

Stuff sports say Leslie has narrowly missed a medal in the pool at Paris - 16 years after his first Paralympic Games gold medal. They say the Kiwi swimmer finished fourth in the men’s 50m S4 freestyle at Paris this morning in a race won in world record time by Canada’s 19-year-old Sebastian Massabie in 35.61 seconds.

Stuff Sport says that Japan’s Takayuki Suzuki, 37, got silver in 36.85sec at his sixth Paralympics and Israel’s Ami Omer Dadaon secured bronze in 37.11 seconds.

They say Leslie finished .13sec off the bronze medal, in 37.24sec, faster than his qualifying time of 37.70.
