Cabinet has approved the third redeployment of funds within the 2024–2025 National Budget to meet additional expenditure demands totalling $78,556,185 (VIP).
The redeployed funds will cover a range of priority areas including health, education, agriculture, and border security.
According to the government, the additional allocations include $22.1 million will be used to clear outstanding film tax rebates, and $10 million has been allocated towards payment under the Health Public Private Partnership.
They say $11 million has been allocated for the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service to procure x-ray machines and $1.4 million as an additional paddy grant to Fiji Rice Limited.
A total of $23.8 million has been allocated for personal emoluments in the Ministry of Education, while the Ministry of Health will receive $10 million for the same purpose.
