Acting Police Commissioner, Rusiate Tudravu says they will be stepping up their patrol as they know criminal elements will try to take advantage of the current situation.

Tudravu is also urging community groups and neighbours to help look out for each other during these times.

He made these comments after a couple who tested positive for COVID-19 and are in hospital isolation say their house in Qiqi Place in Waila 3B in Davuilevu Housing was broken into early yesterday morning and are calling for more police patrol in their area.

Daven Singh fears their house will be targeted again.

Singh says he was informed by his neighbour about the break-in.

He says his neighbour informed him the windows of his master-bedroom are broken.

Singh adds he is helpless as both him and his wife are in hospital. They have filed a report with police.
