COP29 meet will be more than a technical meeting as Fiji hopes to secure adaptation funding – Prof. Prasad

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Profesor Biman Prasad

A 55 member delegation from Fiji will attend the COP29 meeting which will be more than a technical meeting and their main objective is to secure adaptation funding.

This was highlighted by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Professor Biman Prasad as he leads the Fijian delegation to the meeting.

Professor Prasad says they will ensure that they are able to secure the finance needed for small island states to minimise the effects of climate change.

He says there will be 94 agenda items that will be discussed during COP29.

Professor Prasad reiterates that they are going to talk about processes and procedures in order to secure the climate change fund.

He adds the names and titles of the delegation to COP29 is published on the website for COP29 2024.
