Byrne says Flying Fijians’ depth a major weapon ahead of England test

Byrne says Flying Fijians’ depth a major weapon ahead of England test

FIJI Water Flying Fijians coach Mick Byrne says the team’s depth is one of their greatest assets heading into the England test, with all 32 players in the squad capable of stepping up regardless of position.

Speaking from London, Byrne says the team’s development over the past few years has built strong depth across the park.

Byrne says that is the beauty of what they have built.

He added that there are at least 10 players outside the current squad who could also slot in seamlessly.

Byrne says there is always talk about selections and why someone was left out but they picked based on combinations and what fits their game plan.

Byrne also praised the energy and enthusiasm of the younger players in camp and says training combinations are coming together well.

He says the key will be getting the game plan right, understanding what they are trying to do, and executing it tomorrow.

Fiji faces England at 5.40am tomorrow at Twickenham.
