The passengers of the bus that were involved in an accident in Lomawai, Sigatoka, at around 1pm yesterday are still admitted in the hospital.

Police say the bus was hit by a car that was travelling from Sigatoka to Nadi when the driver of the vehicle allegedly lost control.

They say the passengers from the bus were rushed to the Sigatoka Hospital by passing vehicles, where 17 passengers are still admitted at the Sigatoka hospital, and 7 are still admitted at the Aspen Hospital in Lautoka.

Police have also confirmed that the driver of the vehicle and one of his passengers, a woman from Lautoka, died on the spot, while the third passenger, who is also a woman from Lautoka, died upon their arrival at the Sigatoka hospital.

Police investigations continue.
