Bus operators are planning to stop providing bus services from tomorrow in the lockdown area in Nadi and Lautoka or limit services to morning, midday and afternoon to ensure there is limited movement of people.

The President of Fiji Bus Operators Association, Nisar Ali Shah says it is better to contain the spread of COVID-19.

He adds all bus drivers have been advised to tell their passengers to wear masks however they cannot enforce this.

He also says buses are currently running at half capacity in Nadi and Lautoka.

We have noticed physical distancing is not being practised in buses in the Suva-Nausori corridor and have highlighted it with Shah. Shah says he will be speaking with the bus operators throughout the country, as initially, the major risk was in Nadi and Lautoka.
