The recent power outage for residents in Valelevu, Nadera and Kinoya yesterday was caused by a bus that had veered to the wrong side of the road near Valelevu and collided with an EFL power pole at around 5.43pm yesterday.

EFL says this accident caused damage to the 11,000V and 415V EFL power pole and other line hardware at multiple locations, and caused an unplanned power outage in the surrounding areas.

They say the power pole and line hardware had to be replaced.

EFL teams were able to isolate the faulty areas and energize/restore power supply to most of the affected areas last night.

They say some areas were still without power supply as repair and restoration works continued throughout the night with multiple teams.

EFL repair and replacement works were completed and tested before power supply to the remaining areas was fully normalized at 11:25am this morning.
