An underground water leakage is causing water disruptions and heavy traffic at Nokonoko Road in Laucala Beach

An underground water leakage is causing water disruptions and heavy traffic at Nokonoko Road in Laucala Beach.

Residents living in Nokonoko Road, Fletcher Road, Batiki Street, Nakelo Street, Kaunitoni Street, Wailea Street, Sekoula Street and Nanuku Street are without water.

The Water Authority of Fiji says they are currently addressing the leak and will commence resurfacing works of the affected area from tonight and continue into tomorrow.

They say the leak has affected all four lanes, resulting in traffic and lanes being reduced to three.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Roads Authority says they have deployed contractors to provide traffic management while the necessary repairs are carried out.

They also advise that the traffic management plan is subject to change as WAF progresses along the line to repair different sections of the affected area as the Ratu Dovi Bound lane has been particularly impacted by the leak.

FRA encourages people to use an alternative route, if possible.
