The Bula Boys are gearing up to face defending champions and hosts Papua New Guinea in the semi-final of the MSG Prime Minister's Cup.
Head Coach Stephane Auvray says their position since arriving has been to start a new cycle of players, so every game is a new experience for them.
He says for this particular match, they will be facing an opponent that is probably stronger than what they have encountered so far.
He adds that he wants to see how the players react, how they control their emotions, and what they can gain from this game before moving on to another cycle, where they can begin to create a defined playing style and identity.
Auvray says he hopes fans understand that they want to give all players an opportunity to be on the field and that time is needed to develop their own identity.
The Bula Boys have earlier defeated PNG 1-nil in their pool match.
Fiji will take on PNG at 6pm on Thursday, while Vanuatu will face the Solomon Islands in the first semi-final at 3pm.
