Pine landowners in Fiji will be sharing a bonus payout of $6 million from the Fiji Pine Limited which will also assist Mataqali members in planning their projects in various villages.

Fiji Pine Limited says that the landowners come together annually to receive their cheques from the collaboration with the Government to celebrate their success as resource owners working in partnership with a successful pine industry model created for them in the 1970s.

They say 2024 has been a year of growth despite some challenges within the company as it attempts to make improvements in various areas of operation.

They add that the payout have created endless possibilities and business opportunities for thousands of landowning units since 2013.

FPL says initially, the amount was much smaller which was about $661,835, at $10 per hectare of pine plantations and it hit the $1 million mark the following year when Fiji Pine Limited paid out $15.50 per hectare.

To date, Fiji Pine Group has paid out at least $25 million in LSBP to pine landowners.

The Bonus Payments are expected to be done next Wednesday.
