We are not going to be sugarcoating any of the findings, they will speak for themselves.

Blue Prosperity Fiji Country Manager, Arthur Sokimi highlighted this after one of their dives as part of their nationwide ocean science expedition.

Sokimi also says these are the findings that government will have in place to ensure the sustainability of our resources not only for now but going into the future.

He further says these management plans do not only speak for the conservation of resources but for the needs of our people today, tomorrow and onwards.

The Country Manager adds there have been numerous surveys over the years from Macuata down to Yasawa, the Great Sea Reef, over in the Vatu-i-Ra passage, the Lau sea scape just recently, Beqa and Yanuca, but this is the first nationwide survey that will cover all these sites that have been surveyed and so much more.

He adds the determination of these sites was by the Ministry of Fisheries led by their research division and the selection was formed by the needs of government to understand the different parts of the country and the status of our coral reefs and marine ecosystems.

Sokimi further says they can then use that information at the community and national level that can better manage our marine resources.
