A 63-year-old billiard shop caretaker from Ba, who is charged with obtaining a financial advantage, will appear in the Ba Magistrates Court today.

Police say it is alleged that on the 4th of July last year, the man dishonestly obtained $250 from a member of the public through the MPAiSA platform.

Police say the accused received $250 from an MPAiSA account, and after receiving the funds, he withdrew the money, which he was not eligible to receive.

They say the matter was reported to Valelevu Police Station.

They add that the Fiji Police Force remains committed to holding those who misuse financial platforms accountable.
